Everything is available today. Nothing is charged until 1 November 2026.

Every account mode (Free, Supporter and Enterprise) is open now, and so is the hosted control plane, priced by use. No waiting list. Billing starts on 1 November 2026, and you get 10 days’ notice by e-mail before anything is charged.

Managed control planes elsewhere start around €299/mo. A hosted kubehz control plane starts at €0.016/h, capped at €11.68 a month.

Nothing is charged before 1 November 2026

Every tier is available and usable right now. Billing starts on 1 November 2026. Until then the platform runs free for everyone, no tier is charged, and you get 10 days’ notice by e-mail before the first charge. After it, the self-hosted tier stays free; the Supporter contribution and the hosted control plane begin billing at the rates below, which are our launch list rates, calculated from measured costs on the live pilot fleet.

Hosted control planes, add-ons and Spaces are metered by the hour and capped by the month, the way your Hetzner servers are billed. Run a control plane for a week, pay a week. Run it all month and you pay the €/mo figure, never more. The four rules are below (Terms §7.3).

Hosted

From €0.016/hper control plane

Managed control planes elsewhere start around €299/mo

Control plane run by kubehz (available today, free until 1 November 2026). Metered per hour, no plan: you set the shape, the meter counts what exists. €11.68/mo is the base unit's monthly cap, the most it can cost in a month.

  • Control plane€11.68/mo

€0.016/h: one API server, the datastore, scheduled backups and the first 2 GB of state

  • Each extra API server€5.84/mo

€0.008/h, up to 3 API servers; a change applies live

  • State above 2 GB, per GB€0.37/mo

€0.0005/h per GB held, rounded up to whole GB each hour

  • Add-ons from free (OPA policies) to €0.018/h (dedicated bare metal), metered per hour and capped per month
  • Scheduled etcd snapshots, included in every control plane
  • Workers on your own Hetzner account

How billing works

Four rules, modelled on Hetzner Cloud. They apply to every metered thing on this page: hosted control planes, their add-ons and Spaces.

  1. Every started hour is billed in full. Billing begins the moment a resource is created. A control plane or a Space that lives ten minutes pays one hour.
  2. Existence bills, not activity. A resource is charged for as long as it exists in your account, whatever its state. Only removing it stops the charge: you delete the resource, or, for a unit you can switch off (your own control plane in a Space), you disable it.
  3. A monthly cap per unit. The hourly charges of one unit never add up to more than its stated monthly price. Every €/mo figure on this page is the hourly rate multiplied by a 730-hour month, and it is a true maximum: a 31-day month costs no more than the listed monthly price.
  4. Add-ons bill separately. Whatever survives a deletion keeps its own hourly charge until you delete it too.

So the hourly rate is the meter and the monthly figure is the ceiling. You never have to estimate how many hours a month has.

One carve-out to rule 2, and it is in your favour: a static node you bring yourself is billed only for the hours it is Ready. A NotReady node costs nothing.

The hosted rate card

A hosted control plane has no plan. You set two limits on the cluster, both free and both live: the API-server count (1 to 3) and the state storage limit. The meter prices three units, per hour:

  • Control plane€0.016/h: one API server, the datastore, scheduled backups and the first 2 GB of state€11.68/mo
  • Each extra API server€0.008/h, up to 3 API servers; a change applies live€5.84/mo
  • State above 2 GB, per GB€0.0005/h per GB held, rounded up to whole GB each hour€0.37/mo

State storage. Every control plane includes 2 GB of state. On the state slider you set a limit (up to 6 GB on etcd, 32 GB on the kine datastore) and a ceiling the limit may grow to on its own: when the data held reaches 80% of the limit, the platform raises the limit by one step, never past your ceiling. The bill counts the bytes actually held, rounded up to whole GB each hour, not the limit you set, so the ceiling is the most your state can ever cost.

Example shapes

Three worked examples, with the hourly rate and the monthly cap it adds up to. They are examples, not plans: set any shape you like and the price is the sum.

  • Dev1× API server, 2 GB state: €0.016/h€11.68/mo
  • Two servers2× API server, 4 GB state: €0.025/h€18.25/mo
  • HA3× API server, 6 GB state, monitoring: €0.044/h€32.12/mo

Spaces: pay for what you use

A Space is three numbers you set. How many nodes you may register (1 to 5), how many namespaces the Space holds (1 to 3), and the object size cap (64 to 512 KiB, 256 KiB by default): the largest Secret or ConfigMap your namespaces accept. Three sliders, no plans and no sizes. You bring the machines; kubehz runs the namespaces, the shared control plane, the CNI, the certificates and the DNS.

Free: one Space per account, and every Space includes 2 nodes, its first namespace and the 256 KiB object cap. €0/mo. Without a payment method an account stays at those numbers, the cap included, whatever its mode. Add one and all three sliders move to their maximum, and the meter prices only what runs above what a Space includes: each node and each namespace, by the hour at a small rate, capped at its monthly price. A unit costs its rate for every hour it exists, and nothing once you delete it. Moving the object cap costs nothing at any setting.

Grow into your own control plane and add two more nodes, and your kubehz bill is still at most €5.11 a month.

  • Spacethe first one per account free, then €0.002/h€1.46/mo
  • Extra namespacethe first one per Space included, then €0.0004/h€0.29/mo
  • Nodethe first 2 per Space included, then €0.0015/h€1.10/mo
  • Your own control planeonly while enabled, €0.004/h€2.92/mo
  • Object size cap64 to 512 KiB with a payment method on the account; without one it keeps the 256 KiB defaultFree

Every €/mo figure above is a monthly cap: the most the unit can cost in a month, however many hours that month has. New to this? Start with what a Space is.

Past the sliders? A workload that needs more than 5 nodes or more than 3 namespaces wants a cluster of its own. Take the hosted control plane: you set its shape, the meter prices it by the hour, and the workers stay on your Hetzner account.

Compare your options

Every row uses the same wording in every column, so an option can be read down and a dimension can be read across. Where a figure is not published, this table says so rather than implying a limit that does not exist.

Free, Supporter and Enterprise are account modes: one per account. The hosted control plane is a hosting option you can run on any of them, priced by use; it is shown here so you can compare what it costs and includes.

No option below Enterprise includes an SLA: that is the same fact in three columns, not three different offers.

Hosted add-ons

Optional extras for hosted control planes, metered like the control plane itself: billed for every hour the add-on exists, and never more in a month than the €/mo figure. Backups are missing from this list on purpose: scheduled etcd snapshots are included in every hosted control plane. High availability isn’t an add-on either: it is the API-server count you set (three API servers).

Important notes

Introductory pricing

These prices come from measured costs on our pilot fleet, not guesses. They are introductory prices: any change is announced at least 30 days in advance (Terms §7.4).

No SLA

No tier includes an SLA. We aim for high availability but make no guarantees. If we can’t sustain the free tier, we’ll give 90 days notice.

No direct support

All tiers use community support: live chat with the team and other operators, plus the community forum. Enterprise gets a limited direct channel. We’re a small team, and we’d rather build a great product than staff a support desk.
